I won't be able to sleep now......too excited!
Oh my. Oh my. Oh my!!!!!! I have not been quilting for long but I knew when we decorated the bedroom exactly what I wanted to go on the top of the bed and after months and months of searching I have found exactly what I have spent hours and hours if not weeks and weeks looking for on the internet. It is a Japanese quilt that is just perfect. It is a red rooster product and the fabric line is Gion and to top it all my LQS shop is stocking this line. Guess where I will be going tomorrow? I am truly too excited to sleep. So glad I did not settle for anything else because t would never have been what I really wanted. Happy happy happy

That's exciting! Isn't it great when you find exactly what you want? I'd love to see pics of the quilt you are going to make and the fabric you are going to use.

That is just spectacular - but I can't see wanting to cut into it other than to size it for a king-size full fabric quilt!

Yeah *happy dance* for you!! Isn't it great when the stars align and everything comes together!! Sleep well yes, you'll need strong arms to carry all that lovely fabric to the counter :-) How exiting indeed. Photo's are of course needed so we too can drool over your project!!

I am going to get out some graph paper and work this out. I will also see if it would work as a medallion

Attachment 60618. I think I have worked out how to. Make it big enough but my idea is not set in stone yet a) I have to get my DH to check my math (not my strong subject ) and b) keep looking and looking at the pattern to see if I can do it smarter. Then when I decide I will have to work out the revised quantity of fabric needed. As tempted as I am, which is just falling short of physically restraining myself so I can not get to my LGS yet I (for once in my life because I so love this quilt I don't want to get it wrong) I will hold of rushing into it until I am 100% sure it will work. So this is whati think thus far: I can add a centre panel which will include another Geisha print panel right in the centre so it will have 3 off set panels running diagonally top left to right and have the diagonal flower bower (don't know what else to call it) running from the bottom left to top right corner stopping at the bottom left and starting again at the top right central Geisha panel. I will try and attach a rough sketch here. Can anyone see why this would not work please? Hmm I can see the sketch but it is upside down on this post? I don't know how to turn it so it will just have to stay that way.

That is gorgeous. If I wanted to make that and needed it bigger, I think I would add another border of the stripes as a second outer border. Good Luck, and enjoy making such a beauty.
