Just a little tip for using invisible thread...
So you can see it to thread your machine, brush the first 1/2" of the thread against the end of a permanent marker, any colour. Cut the coloured end off once threaded.

Do you have to use a certain weight thread in the bobbin if your not using the invisible monofilament one in the bobbin?
I checked Bottom Line and saw it was a 60wt so that is why I am asking.
Thanks all for the replies. I'm a newbie using this so I hope not to make a mess of my machine.

I have used the Aurifil thread of this type, both on the top and the bottom. Be sure you put the net around the spool or you will be sorry! I did not applique with mine, but did micro stippling on a small wall hanging.
