    Default Mad at myself...

I can't tell you how many self-binding receiving blankets I have made!!!

Kat called this morning, can you please made three flannels for the car, it's so chilly when the kids get in and the car's warming. Sure no problem, pick them up after you get Zander this afternoon.

The first one, I flip inside out...miters are going the wrong direction!!! UGH

Well, not to lose the whole blanket, I pressed, stitched a decorative border and the corners are pressed down on an angle so there! :P

Now the other two better to right darn it! >>> Walks off stamping feet!

You sound like me. If there's a way to mess it up, I'll find it! The real talent is finding a way to cover it up/fix it. I made the "roll up" pillow cases a couple of months ago; of course I sewed it wrong. A couple of times. Had to rip out the seams, but I figured it out in the long run. Made a couple of really nice personalized birthday presents for a longtime friend of mine. All worth it.

It has been quite chilly here in Atlanta! I just giggled when I read your post because that was me last weekend. I COULD NOT get the binding straightened out on my Q4K quilt. I don't know what my problem was. Love that you cranked out all of those blankets and plowed through! I know they will be greatly appreciated!

How did your next two turn out? I bet fantastic with no problem. I don't miss hauling the little ones out in the cold! Was 32 when I left for work this morning.

I think I feel your pain. I'm not sure. My mind is still a little boggled at the idea that someone called this morning, asked for three blankets and you said sure - pick them up this afternoon.

Yeah...now that I think about it more - I clearly do not understand this level of rapid sewing efficiency. But I am very impressed!

Those mitered corners are something I have to watch being done, otherwise, I'm likely to make the same mistake. If you print a picture of it you'll never make that mistake again. Here's a photo tutorial. If you scroll down to steps 5 and 6 you can print out just those photos or save to your computer. I prefer having a printed reference. Self Binding Receiving Blanket Tutorial - Sew Much Ado

Do you know how to isolate pages for printing? If not, I've discovered if I click on PDF in the print window I can click on "Open PDF in Preview." I scroll through the tutorial to see what will print on each page. I can then enter the exact pages I want to print without printing out the whole tutorial.

I keep so much stuff stored on my computer that I have a terrible time finding things. I keep a notebook of instructions. Having a hard copy that I can quickly refer to up in my sewing room is more convenient for me.

I stitched and ripped the tails of a quilt binding 3 times before I finally sewed it together so the binding wasn't twisted. I can't seem to do it right the first time.
