    Default Finally...

... the fabrics I ordered for my friends baby quilt arrived!!! I waited many months before I could order anything at all again (the travelling to my treatments ate all of mine and hubbys allowance) but anyhow, 2 weeks ago, I finally could order something!

My friend is expecting a boy (any day now!!) and she said she loves blue herself. That called for a pretty collection that's been incredible hard to find ....

    Finally...-2013-10-23-09.10.19.jpg

but as you can see, I managed to find not 1, not two, not three, but FOUR charmpacks of the seascapes line! HA! They didnt come cheap but they're perfect for a beautiful nautical boy quilt.

    Any ideas for me?

    Hugs, Steffie

Life is like a party. You invite a lot of people; some go, some join you, some laugh with you, some didn’t come. But in the end, after the fun, there would be a few who would clean up the mess with you. And most of the time, those were the uninvited ones.

No ideas... It's too early in the morning to think properly... But... Congratulations on getting just the right fabric for this very important quilt.

I know what you mean. So far, my idea is to just make some rows and then leave some white space with room for applique on it. (Boats, or whales or octopusses or something similar). Not very creative but might be very pretty. Just giving it a shot if someone has a pattern design that makes me go like WOW!! hihi

And yes, this quilt is indeed very important to me. My expecting friend was very close to me during the last time I spend in Germany and she managed to help me get some selfesteem. She's a very kind and caring person. Let's just say, she managed to help me grow a thicker skin and not to take everything so hard. I learnt a lot optimism from her.

    Beautiful fabric!!

I just made a babyquilt monday out of 1 charmpack, it is simple but pretty.
I snowballed 1 corner of each charm square with and darker fabric and after that I've put those in the center to make one block. If you like that idea I can take a picture, it goes together really fast and it shows the fabric really nice!

Have fun with your beautiful charms!!

Okay, here is my baby quilt, that I made for no reason ( I had the charms and I love this line, so I needed to use them haha....hope to sell it )
I have just sewn the binding on and need to handstich it down on the back, so that's way it looks a little wierd...
The blocks are charms the snowball corners I've cut 2,5" square.
It is a fun little quilt!

Thanks for the picture, Klasien! It's a very beautiful quilt, I have no doubt you will get it sold in no time. Thank you for the input. Now I have to think. I don't have that much time to ponder because I haven't spoken to her in a while and I don't know for sure if she's still due or if there is already a new little boy!

how about the falling charms quilt?.... You really don't want to cut up your charms after all the trouble you went in getting it. Four charm packs will make a queen size quilt for that pattern though. You could save the other three for other babies though. just a thought ..or two.

or the X's and O's quilt?

Queensize would be bit too huge for a small little boy, I agree. I was thinking about using one or two charmpacks for him and save two for another baby. I actually found a tutorial from a lady who made a slight variation of the x and o quilt, but I am not sure if that's my friends style. Teh falling charms quilt is indeed a very cute pattern and I had it in my mind as well. Perhaps I'll make one of them and see how it turns out .. I have enough charms to make another if I don't think she'd like it Thank you for your input, Kellie!
