Thanks Sue! I didn't check my email today. That's really cheap!
Love that class. Carol is a terrific instructor. Enjoy
Hey Sue, Thanks for the Public service announcement: it has been noted, and will be actioned accordingly in about 2 minutes. I did the English paper piecing class: "pieced hexies" tutorial on craftsy with Mickey Dupre, and really enjoyed it. I am waiting on my online order of supplies to arrive, and then I will be giving the hexie thing a red hot go. I will now have a look at the one you are talking about and give it a go, also, as I have always thought it would be a great technique to master. Thanks again, and be sure to post pics of what you conquer.
Afew things I learned about paper piecing, a) it's likely the only way I'll ever get points to match, as in a star pattern, b) the first two pieces are the trickiest, the rest comes along, c) make sure my fabric piece completely covers the area of the paper it's supposed to, plus the quarter inch all around, and d) drum rolllllll last but not least, for God's sakes me be patient with me as I'm learning a new technique ! Have fun with it!
Chica, chica, what ya doin' to me? lol I've done paper piecing but really would like to learn the more complex ones. I really shouldn't(wiggling nose, tapping foot)! It will be January before I can get to this tutorial...what to do...
It'll be there in January, but it may not be $14.99!
It is like 86% OFF! Or some crazy percentage UNHEARD of!
Just do it, chica!
(Her math lesson dizzied up my head, but great tips! And I'm only on Lesson 3!....)
Trust me, I have enough going on right now, and purchased this for a winter 'give it a go'...
Couldn't pass up the sale, Ruby!
Alright chica, I am trying to follow your lead, but for me it is $29.99, not $14.99 - which magic link did you follow? Share please... :)
AHA! I'm ON to them now!!
There's a fancy, techie name for this marketing...
I googled 'how to clean a cast iron skillet', and the ad came up. Do you believe that?
JAYZEE, this stuff freaks me out....
It's only MY deal? Well, heck fire shoot!
Do you suppose Big Brother may be watching?
I googled the casting iron question and got the Craftsy 14.99 Quilting Class, which I already have all of them from long time ago! The Mastering Paper Piecing is 29.99 for me too! Poop on them! lol
Ok, I did the magic search and got the link for the $14.99 classes, but only 3 are listed there and the paper piecing one is not one of them. I went and cleaned out my inbox looking for an email, since I get them all of the time from them, but no go there either. Guess I will jump on it the next time they send me a we miss you email.... :)
POOP, indeed.
I signed up for this class and got the $14.99 price but this is how I had to do it. I had to go on craftsy.com and not be logged in to my account. Then I clicked on the classes on sale red banner (50 classes on sale) on top of the page. Found the class, added it to my "cart", and then logged in. Maybe this will help you out. I'm hooked on paper piecing and for the price this class offers lots of info and tips. Hopefully you all can get it for $14.99. Hugs! Debbie
You're most welcome! See you in class! I've already gone through a few of the lessons and have learned so much already. Not ready to actually start the paper piecing until tomorrow!
Alright all of you - I am now taking this wonderful online paper piecing class - even more time on the computer instead of sewing!!! I love my fellow enablers! I think this is going to be great - I can't wait to try the sunflower one - that is the lesson I am currently watching.... :)
I bought it. May not really be able to do much with it until after the holidays as I have already committed myself to several other projects - but it will be waiting for me when I have some time. I couldn't resist it as my mom has asked me to make her a coffee cup quilt - I found a cute paper piecing pattern and was going to give it a shot cold. This way I will at least have some idea what the heck I am doing when I work on it!
I tried but it is $29.99 no matter what I tried. So I will wait for the next time.
I was on my home page typing in my local paper when I noticed an ad for Craftsy classes for 14.99 and lo and behold I found the paper piecing class for 14.99. So I am happy
Try peggy matyins class too. I like it better.
I have a question on the paper. I have some paper from MS freezer sheets. Any reason why I can't use them and what side do I print on?
The Precision Piecing with Norah McMeeking is pretty good also. I think the Carol Doan class was on sale over the weekend. I'm taking a couple classes and I have so many projects going that I don't know where to go next. But that's the best way for me. I like a challenge.
Unfortunately, my contest pieces are sitting there staring at me.
