The Facebook voting is the first stage. The top 25 to 28 (depending if Jenny uses her 3 saves) from there go on a webpage for final voting.

This is going to be interesting. I know of a few votes I can count on, but it really is going to boil down to who can hawk the most votes. I personally plan on trying my durndest to win that machine, so I have one I can keep at DD's without busting the bank, lol.
I think most of us are aware that this is a public forum...there are a few though I'm just not sure about.

And what if everyone gets their friends of friends to vote, an so on, and so on? I'm reminded of my daughter selling Girl Scout cookies. One girl always outsold (by a hundred fold) the others because her father worked somwhere that he managed hundreds of people and sold them at work. Just wondering.

I'm not entering the contest as I've got too much to do already but since I am on FB, I will go and see the entries and vote.
I just hope the contest doesn't turn into a battle here on the forum with hurt feelings, accusations, etc. It should be fun and whoever wins, may they have many hours of fun sewing on their new machine. A lot of talented folks on the forum so it should be a fun to see all the entries.

I'd really like to see the first round of all who enter, as I don't expect to get any further than that. So think I'll just open a FB account and then close it afterwards. From a business perspective though, I think doing it on FB does make a lot of sense.

Please treat others as you would hope others would treat those you love.

I won't be opening a FB account, but hope to still enter.
My goodness make a fake Facebook page for all quilting. There is no rule you have to use personal info on Facebook. I have a fake facebook page just for quilting that uses a free gmail account, also fake info. I get nothing but quilting sites/designers/manufacturers/shops posts on it.
You can not compare this public forum to Facebook. Facebook has MILLIONS of members, and is THE place where people go to get information on other people. It is not even remotely the same.
Facebook changes their dang privacy policies CONSTANTLY and is about to do it once again.
I am not saying that I refuse to use facebook, because I DO use it. I just prefer to keep it as low key and as private as possible, and with their newest changes will be using it even less.
Of course it makes sense to use FB as a free advertising medium. It is hardly the end of the world that some people will not get involved in anything that requires FB. Why is it such a big deal when some people mention their dislike of Facebook?
