Ugh was my first reation too, I am glad I am not the only one who felt that way. I think I will consider opening fb acct. because I wanna vote ! I remember voting last time even though I didn't compete myself - and it was fun.

Why not? It is a public contest. They have many, many people that 'like' them on FB that are not members of the forum. Those people will be entering the contest as well. Their FB page is public, not private. It really is the best way to promote this entire thing and generate the most voting capability. The last contest the winner had 335 votes. I am looking for the numbers to be significantly higher this time around.

The one thing that they won't have to deal with on FB as far as voting goes is one person voting more than once for an entry. Last time they had issues with people voting multiple times for an entry. You can only "like" it once on FB.

Very true. However I do have one ?. My DD and DGK live in the same house, therefore have the same IP address, so how is that going to work. Same way with my sis and niece, BIL and nephew. If they limit the IP address. What think you oh great quilting guru?

I don't think there is any way to control the IP address from FB. Your whole family could vote for you, as long as each one has a FB account, even if they all logged in from your house.

Now, if I can convince all my Mafia Wars friends to vote for me ....

Not that I will win or even place, but I'm having fun and being part of the amazing quilters able to say I'm in the "Iron Quilter" contest is a real *hoot*

With Facebooks new privacy policy, I want zero to do with that. I like that they will be in an album style to be seen versus flipping through the many contestants websites given.

It should be done the other way around open to the World for voting and only post a link on their FB -- Versus shutting out non-FB folks

That makes me sad, a lot of older people don't trust those social sites

Cat n Bull is a quilter and a talented one. Why should she or any quilter have to have a FB account to vote no matter what round of the contest? This is a company and the bottom line is money but I agree with HDWench.

It doesn't matter what they do, someone will not like it. But, since it's their contest, the prizes are offered by their sponsors... it makes sense to me.
