Default Is there a fragrance-free color catcher?

Everyone talks about how great color catchers are. I bought 1 box & I couldn't tolerate the fragrance. It's sitting out in my garage until I can give it to a fellow quilter who said she'll use it. I have to use fragrance free & dye free laundry detergent & I never use fabric softeners. I'd love to use color catchers if they were fragrance free. So far, I've had good luck with my quilts b/c I wash them in cold water. JCY

I've used both the Shout (single use and a bit smelly 2 me?)... and the Carbone Color Grabber (30 use "towel" no smell)...

Here is where I bought my Carbone - Though you may find them at Walmart??

Use an old cloth diaper or wash cloth. They don't work as well as the catchers but I don't think the color catchers come unscented. If I were you I would use them and when there was no color coming onto them I would wash again to get rid of the odor.

You beat me to it! lol Debbie sent me one of these a while ago and they have no smell, at least not anything noticeable anyway. I'm sensitive to strong perfumes, I can't even think about using Gain detergent, but that reusable cloth is great! And you can use it multiple times, so even if it does have a faint smell you can wash it and get it out

At some point, someone posted a link for directions on making your own color catchers. Here are a couple of links:

And I'm still using my 1st one!!! These are better than sliced bread with no scent and catch the color from 30 quilts!! I just have to remember to write down every time I toss it in the washer (I even count a batch of mug rugs as 1, a table runner as 1), to be on the safe side.

Good luck and Dee, I'm so glad you liked it too!!

Thanks for the tips on scent-free color catchers. The Carbona Color Grabber cloth currently is on sale. I'll also check out my local WM store. JCY
