Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
I was happily cutting up scraps - smoothing out a piece of fabric on the cutting board, picked up the ruler in one hand to lay it down, and grabbed the rotary cutter in the other... and twitched -

Luckily it was a new blade and just a light tap - but I bleed forever because of the daily aspirin. No real damage. SOMEONE was watching out for me.
I headed for the kitchen and called to hubby for a band-aid. Here's what he did

I love that man - but this is overkill for a little scratch. I'm fine - just a scratch really - no stitches necessary. I've had worse injuries from the darn cats!
Moral of the story - 1) Pay attention to where the cutter is when you have to sneeze, and 2) be specific when you ask for a band-aid...

Definitely a keeper. I love that man with all my heart and soul. He does so much for me, and puts up with my craziness and quilting habits. We will have our 30th anniversary next June.

I'm going to guess that he is either an EMT or works in construction. Looks like something my late husband would do. Hope you heal quickly.

Uh oh! You've got to love that man!

Good Lord, did he use one of the bed pillows?
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
TLC to the max! Give him a big hug and kiss for us!
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
See how much he loves you? Great guy!

Awwwww, so sorry bout the cut, but what a hubby!
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
How sweet! :) Just imaging how your DH would react to a real cut? My hubby would probably just give me that old "I told you so or I warned you" look and point me in the direction of the band aids....for a wound like that. But if I REALLY cut myself he would have much more sympathy. I have been fortunate so far.......but as you said it's bound to happen.....:icon_rolleyes:
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
oh yes, got to love the man for putting SO much attention on that cut lol!!! You might want to get into the habit of click the blade closed as soon as you cut. uhh I had to learn that too ;-)
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
I have cut myself twice with the blankety blank things...first time I went for stitches...second time we taped stitched it and it healed fine...was not going to the ER on a weekend night...not in this town!
Re: Oh Lord - it was bound to happen - not for a weak stomach.
It's important to close your cutter every time you lay it down. I use an old Dritz cutter than closes itself every time I quit applying pressure. I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's about 40 years old!!

I had to laugh at the sneeze part. I get sneezing attacks in the car sometimes and I get scared and feel like I have to pull over. Your eyes always close when you sneeze. 15 times in a row makes you practically blind!
