    Default First Quilt Show Today!

Wow--you can really drop some money at the these shows!! I only bought a couple of yards of fabric, but was really close shelling out $65 for a Martinelli Slotted Ruler and rotary cutter. I walked away and gained my senses though. I did enjoy it and there are bargains to be had. I think my next step is to sign up for a class/workshop. There is another show in our area the end of September. I am super excited though--there was gal there that is opening up a rent by the hour longarm studio. You do have to take a class for $130--but it includes some longarm time. It will be $25 per hour after that. There is also a sit down George available for $12 hour and no class needed.

I have had that rotary cutter for almost two years and it is one of the best sewing tools I have ever brought home!! I looked at the slotted ruler just last weekend, but did not like that it is not clear, so did not buy it. They have a great company with excellent products!!

I won't use any other rotary cutter! It is so far superior to others I have tried.

I love taking classes at quilt shows and highly recommend it. You'll find classes and instructors you'll never find anywhere else.

Did you enjoy seeing the quilts at the show? Did you get any pictures you want to share?

Well darn! I guess I wasn't listening close enough to the demo, I thought you could only use their cutter with the slotted ruler. I was interested in that left handed cutter. Oh well--I believe there are more quilt shows in my future though. The Bluegrass Quilt Festival is in three weeks and I am going to sign up for a Pat Sloan machine applique class if it's not already full.

You can use that rotary cutter the same as any other. If you sign up on their website for their 'redline specials', about once a month you get an email for special days they are having the sale and can get some good deals. This summer, I got 30 blades for $60, and they have really good blades. About a month ago, I got their large cutting mat (which I just learned you can actually iron on!) for 50% off. At Sew Expo this spring, I got their rotating cutting/ironing mat for $50 (which is also half off).

They stand behind their products too!

I can go crazy at quilt shows buying goodies! I seldom feel guilty because I attend so few I feel entitled!
