    Default Joanns -positive exp.

I know a lot of people gripe about Joanns so i want to share my experience. I went last night to use my 60% coupon. there was about 1/2 yd more than I needed so the clerk offered it at remnant pricing THEN said wait-you're using the 60% coupon, right? Yes i was. Oh, you will save more if I don't give you remnant pricing. I had 2 coupons to use on 2 separate cuts, so she did the same for both.

Glad you had a positive experience! I've never had any problems at my Joann, and I've been there frequently lately. Usually everyone goes above and beyond to help me out.

I'm glad you had a good experience and shared it with us. I know there is a lot of complaining about Joann's (and I've been one of them!) but nothing is ALL bad or ALL good.

Good for you! My Joann's is horrible but the one near my mother is good as long as you know who to go to.

Speaking of Joanns I did not know this and I thought I'd pass it on to others who may not know it.

An employee told me if when you purchase fabric off the bolt and there is a yard or less left on it, you can ask for "end of the bolt", they give that piece to you at 50% off. I never new about this policy, she said it is storewide.

At the store I go to they usually ask me and of course I always take it.

On the same note as above, I had put a complaint about Joann's on another thread about the store not properly marking their items on sale so there was an issue using a coupon. Anyways, I called CS & she said they were having a lot of complaints along those lines about so many items being on sale & not being able to use coupons and that they were forwarding them up the line. She advised a DM would contact me. Today I received a call from the store manager inviting me back into the store and she will accept that 60% off coupon on the piece of fabric (or another item if I wanted) that was on sale and not properly marked. VERY happy and glad they were willing to understand the issue was at their store level. The SM mentioned they had recent issues with the signage and she apologized for the inconvenience.

You don't have to ask, they should offer it. It's a company policy to say " would you like the remaining fabric? I can offer it to you for 1/2 off".
I always offer it. And if a customer asks for 4 yards and we only have 3 yards and 22 inches, I do the 22 inches as a remnant. I say "there's only 3 yards and 22 inches, do you still want it? I can do the 22 inches as half price" because 1. I don't want to have to put that 3 yards and 22 inches back on the bolt, and 2, I don't want to have to cut that 22 inches off, wrap and label it as a remnant and then have to go into the computer later to mark it down.

If they don't offer it, ask...
