Amy just go and start a group already. I was in other forums and did swaps and we used Secret Santa Online Gift Exchange Organizer | Wishlists Generator | Elfster.com You don't have to do any work. Just make it an ornament, something simple:)
What types of items would be used for the swap? Do they have to be homemade items or would other sewing notions be ok?
I've never done a swap so I don't know what the rules are.
That's up to Amy
That's up to all of us. In my organizational management course, several types of management were discussed. The one I align the best with is to have a facilitator to organize teamwork, with decisions made by the team. So I will go ahead and set up a group so we can sign up, but specific rules about what is to be sent can be discussed for a little while.
We have until Sept. 11th to decide rules and sign up. Addresses due to me by the 30th of Sept., along with any restrictions. Restrictions, taken right from Blondie's list from last year, will include any food allergies, along with what, if any, holiday(s) you celebrate in December. Packages in the mail by Dec. 1st, possibly earlier if it is international. Just a note - if international, food probably isn't a good idea. Also, considering that some will also be in the big swap, we should put a $$ limit on the present - I'm in favor of $25 or under.
Does that sound fair?
Just an idea, because we do all share a quilting gene, maybe we should have one set of rules about what is specifically in the box. It must be related to Christmas (or your recipients holiday of choice), or be a quilted item, or other handmade item, or be quilt goodies. Geez, that is a pretty big range when you think of it.
The floor is now open for discussion. :D
I am interested
I joined. Sounds like fun.
I want to say that I want to sign up, but I am overwhelmed for projects for Christmas already... But I will be envious!!
Iīd like to join if thatīs okay.
I sometimes use a mailforwarder, so I "have" a US address and can take it from there and nobody would be burdened with higher shipping costs.
