Thanks, gang! I've learned to toss my quilts on the galloping horse and take a few steps back. Pretty certain the judges won't do that. But, after thinking about it all day, I've decided to also get the Colores Sunburst quilt that I made for my best friend and her husband last year. Put it in a different category, of course, so I'm not competing against myself. Feel more confident about a ribbon with that one, but time will tell.
I think it's very sweet. I haven't seen the quilt. I'd love to take a peek. Can you direct me where on the forum to find it?
Ditto what Sandy said!
PS - when I read her post about living in an 'artsy' community I pictured our Sandy in hippy garb living in a commune - not sure why, but it made me chuckle.
I thought I had some pics of this in my album, but apparently not. So, Joan, here are some pics just for you!

Oh that's sweet that he's so proud of his quilt. I hope you win a blue ribbon!
Meli, I'm sure your Dad is making you crazy, but I gotta' say, I think it's adorable that he is so proud of you and that quilt that he's convinced it belongs in a show. And I also gotta' say, I loved the pictures of your Americana quilt; you get a blue ribbon from me! :D I say go for it! Hope you have a wonderful time at the fair.
