Default Which iron do you use?

My almost new Rowenta with a retractable cord, sprouted a leak. The leak seemed to be coming from the water reservoir and running down the cord. I am done with Rowenta, I don't live close enough to anywhere to get one on a moments notice. I will need to order online asap.

I haven't had good experiences with Rowenta either. I like cheapie irons, like Sunbeam or Black and Decker. If something goes wrong, you don't really have to feel bad about replacing it.

Same thing happened with my Rowenta. So just like Jean said and I use a Sunbeam right now.

I have two Rowenta's that are work horses. Not a moments trouble and they are still going strong years after getting them. But, they were gifts. I doubt I would have spent that much money on an iron myself, plus Rowenta's are very heavy irons. Since it's heat, not weight that gets the pressing done, such a heavy iron isn't necessary. So, while I love my Rowenta's, I will no doubt go back to good old Black & Decker someday when these two give up the ghost!

ps - speaking of heavy irons, I recently bought one of those silicone iron rests and I LOVE it! I don't have to always be setting my iron in the upright position as I'm pressing my pieces. This saves a lot of wear and tear on my wrists. I don't know why I didn't get one much, much sooner.

Had a Rowenta once, never again , it did not last for the $ spent on it. last iron was a Black and Decker probably lasted 10 or 12 years. I now have a Hamilton Beach and love it. As others have said when you pay 10 bucks for an iron its not so bad if you only get a year or 2 from them

I use an old Black n Decker, I won't spend much when it dies to replace it either. More money for fabric!

I don't use a Sunbeam Steam Master. It stopped working hours after I brought it home from the thrift store. So much for bargains.

I LOVE the Black & Decker D2030 Digital Advantage iron. Bought it after seeing reviews at both Amazon and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Both carry it but since I'm close to a BB&B and had their coupon, I bought mine there.

I have a remanufactured Rowenta that I bought at Big Lots. So far...so good.
