    Default new layout....

Since Matilda will be coming home tomorrow, I have some decisions to make. Should I try to get everything - cutting table that is 3' x 6', my sewing table 4' x 3', Matilda 3' x 6', plus my shelves, ironing board and bookcase all in one room, or should I put either Matilda or the cutting table in a room of their own? I'm more partial, I think, to put the cutting table in the other room since it will be a room the grandchildren sometimes play in, or should I chance it and put Matilda in there all by her lonesome? Then I get thinking it would make more sense to have the cutting table in the sewing room with me.....

What to do, what to do???

    p.s. - the room measurements are 11 1/2' x 11 1/2'.

Do you have a second or smaller cutting mat to keep in the sewing room and do your main cutting in the other room? You could pop it on your ironing surface when you were doing piecing.

I have a cutting mat on a cabinet that sits right next to my machine. That is why I'm thinking the cutting table will be the one to go. However, that means the pegboard will have to go too, and I don't know how happy the man will be about moving that again!

I have my longarm in a place by itself, it is the back room of my basement. I have my cutting tables/sandwiching tables in a room where there are beds for guests, so I can fold down the tables and the guests still have access to the beds. This is a good size room, you can walk around the cutting tables when they are set up and still have room for two day beds and some shelves. Then I have my real craft room, where there is fabric storage, many machines, and a smaller cutting table. I do live alone in a house with lots of space, so that is an advantage others may not have.

When I left for work this morning, my husband told me he put some papers in my purse......I looked a little while ago and it is the blue print of the room w/little cutouts of all the things to go in the room! I've been playing with that, and I think it will all end up fitting in the one room, which makes me happy. If not, something can be moved later.

Oh I love doing that!! How sweet is he? That would be great if you could have it all in one room too. Have fun playing with the paper and hope you can get it arranged like you want. Very thoughtful man

I am waiting for hubby to get his 41 yr old dresser and night stand out of my sewing room so I can get a cutting table. I would prefer to have it all in one room. Right now I head to the dining room when I need to use the large cutting mat. I keep the small 18 x 24 one under my pressing board next to one of my sewing machines.

I relly like having everything in the same room, too. It just feels better, and is definitely more convenient.

    Good luck with everything.... Enjoying
    Matilda! She's a beauty!
