Ok I know fabric cost has gone up....my daughter sent me a couple links for baby bedding she liked so I could get an idea because I told her I would buy it or make it.....depending on how cost effective it would be. She sends me this link and says its expensive but just to give you an idea...

She's having a girl and I'm over the moon! I guess I live on a different planet I can't believe that people pay this much for a bumper, sheet and crib skirt......

Oh, my goodness! I know you can make something that would be just as or even cuter and the pride your daughter would have knowing her DD was sleeping on something Grandma made would be much better.

anyone spending that much on 3 pieces of bedding would have to have rocks in their head. Made for the furniture yes but the bedding no way. I made all the bedding for my kids beds when they were small... so many better things to spend money on then expensive sheets. but then thats how I was brought up .

Now that is a super cute pattern set! Love the color. Now run to the most expensive Hip Department store and buy a Queen comfort set in that color pattern set and make it for 1/2 price. With enough fabric to make valances, extra crib sheets, diaper holder, wall hanging and God knows what else!

What??? $470 for a bumper, skirt and fitted sheet?? Crazy is the only word that comes to mind. I guess this is for people with more money than sense!

That's absolutely crazy, especially when most child safety consumer advocates and pediatric safety counsels advise NOT to use bumper pads due to suffocation or strangulation dangers. So now you're left with needing a skirt and a sheet. For that money you could make the sheets, skirt, curtains, changing table pads, etc. etc.

We live in a crazy world!
