Farmer's Wife Quilt
I am wanting to do something a little different then I normally do, I am wanting to make a farmer's wife quilt, but am wondering if someone can recommend a pattern or book that they have enjoyed and have found that it was worth the money they paid for it. I am finding a bunch of books out there, but hate to buy one and regret it. Thanks for your help!

You may want to join this group. They are working on the Farmer's Wife quilt together. The name was changed by the group leader, but still the quilt you are talking about. There is a lot of good information in the group. It is on hold right now because of surgery of the group leader, so you would have a lot of time to catch up.

Re: Farmer's Wife Quilt
A lot of us but not all of us have the Farmer's Wife Quilt book. A lot of us in this group also belong to the yahoo group, farmers wife quilt. I personally was frustrated with the patterns in the book and joined the yahoo group. They have free paperpiecing patterns there. It take a few days to be approved as a member but it really made such a difference in my blocks. I was sick for while so I am behind but now our group leader is recovering from surgery. The group is still active and you are welcome to join.

I joined the group here and the one on yahoo. They are both valuable and inspire me to work on the blocks. I use the book but I printed the blocks using the files from yahoo. Printing 15 sheets is much smarter than printing 111.
To get the book, check out half.com. They have it for $13.00

Re: Farmer's Wife Quilt
I am the group leader in question. I've had some setbacks and we aren't quite as far along as I had hoped we'd be at this point, but we'd love to have you! Because of my surgery, we're on hold till the beginning of October. "On Hold" just means we haven't been posting any new blocks for awhile.
The group has a LOT of good information in it and I've been thrilled with how helpful everyone is and all the fabulous tips that get shared.

Re: Farmer's Wife Quilt
Please join our group! It is a wonderful nucleus of enthusiasm, encouragement, and pick-me-ups. I'm not sure if any of us is at the same place in completion of blocks but the spirit within the group is wonderful. I have been using the book but have looked at all the hints and tips that other member of the group have come up with.
I might add that I did try to join the Yahoo group and I'm still waiting to hear from their Moderator.
