Shakespeare for Amy
Amy says she's not into Shakespeare.
I've adapted a sonnet so she can get a little bit interested. Anyone can feel free to improve it.
It's sonnet #18 (I think), "shall I compare thee to a summer's day"
Shall I compare thee to my favourite quilt?
Thou art more comforting and warm.
Rough winds do shake the tiles from off the roof
And summertime must one day surely end.
Then soon Jack Frost's touch is far too chill
And snowflakes cold and frozen fall to Earth.
When everyday the temperature declines
By slow degrees or with a sudden freeze.
But thy eternal comfort shall not fade
Nor lose possession of the love thou giveth.
Nor shall decay brag he has you in his hands
When in my love you are held.
So long as women sew and scissors cut
So long lives quilting and it gives life to thee.
