Ok - maybe not literally...but I just can't seem to make a decision! I really am so truly inspired by Jenny's tutorials, but also all of you who post pics of your amazing stuff, but for some reason - I just can't seem to make a decision on a pattern and go for it!
Good news - my mom finally got a sewing machine. So instead of having two sewing machines buried in storage in NJ - I can run over to my mom's on the weekend and sew to my hearts content. The problem is - I went a little crazy with the fabric purchases when I first found this site and now I'm all jittery about getting started.
I bought the Cream & Sugar charm pack and a yard of the raspberry stripe and decided it would be cute for all the tea drinkers in my life to have mug rugs. Still...I don't know where to begin.
I LOVE the purples and greys in the Jubilee charm pack - and I also have TWO yards of the mauve yardage - and I haven't the first clue what would do them justice. Also, I'm not sure if 1 charm pack is enough. Maybe I should get more...
Ellie Ann? - jelly roll and a layer cake. No idea.
Mimi? - layer cake, also no idea.
My True Love Gave To Me? - layer cake and 2 yards of the green plaid. I see either a table runner or that Christmas tree skirt that Jenny made but I'm indecisive.
Sasparilla? - 2 Charm packs and a yard and a half of the yellow stripe. I see these as rag quilts for the lady that donates to the NICU - but I didn't join the group in case I never get the nerve to make the freakin' quilts!!
There's still a few more things from here - not to mention stuff I just picked up in the fabric stores because it caught my eye and quite frankly I think I'm becoming more of a fabric hoarder than an actual quilter.
I think also - I'm a little concerned that the people I have in mind for some of these things...won't really appreciate my hard work and effort. We've never really had anyone in the family who quilted and I dread the day I find out someone has shipped my fretted over and lovingly made quilt off to Good Will after a year or two because it doesn't go with their color scheme anymore!
Ok - it's late and I'm rambling. I'm sorry. But I officially consider this place my therapy and right now I am in a quilting crisis! Or lack of quilting crisis, I guess.
Anyway - if you've made it this far...thanks for reading. I will give myself a good slap and go to bed. Maybe I'll be better in the morning.![]()
