Question Estimated value of a Pfaff 1222?

I've done a search here and only found one post that referenced this machine. I've read a couple of reviews on other sites and it seems like a solid machine ... even though it was manufactured in the late 60's.

I have the opportunity to get this aluminum body machine that's in good working condition with a replacement pedal. No case - but I usually leave my working machine set up with a dust cover. No extra feet - just the original walking foot but that's the only one I need for just a piecing machine. My 30+-year-old Brother is skipping stitches and not worth repairing.

The problem is this is a private auction item and I don't know what a reasonable offer would be. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Pfaff 1222 Walking Foot Heavy Duty Portable Sewing Machine 4 42525 | eBay That one is up to $102 on bids so far. Of course there is another one with a buy it now price of $699.00. I think they are dreaming. A machine that old and non computerized isn't going to sell for 700 bucks. Both of those machines have cases. I was going to say between $50 and $75 on yours. I have an old Pfaff 1471 Creative that is still going strong and they are still getting about $600.00 for them, which amazes me for a machine that old.

Thanks Karen - I've been watching the prices on EBay also. I also have the first machine I bought which was a Pfaff Hobby and that is also going strong so I feel comfortable going with another Pfaff.

AND I just found out that the 1222 was made into the late 1990's so the machine I'm looking at may not be 40 years old. Unfortunately they don't have the machine number available so I can't accurately date it.

Mine is a late 70's 1222e. One dealer told me some are going for around $500-600. Hard to believe that. Actually I just saw one like mine with case and all the accessories sold for $489. on EBay. Wow! Mine is still going strong and I was not about to trade it in for my new one. I think I would need more info on that one before I bid on it, sight unseen.

Judy, If you go into Ebay and type in Pfaff 1222 you will come up with some machines. Then click on the completed listings and it'll show you how much they've been going for. Genny

A-Ha! Thanks Genny. It took me a while to figure out I had to use the advance search feature to find the past prices. An old dog can be taught new tricks!

Looks like the ones in bad shape and sold just for parts still went for over $100 with the case. This private auctioneer is reputable and the machine is guaranteed to be in good working order ... and he's still looking for the case ... so I think my bid will max out a bit over $100.
