So its sunday and I am off. Got shopping out of the way early then a load of clothes out on the line. I am ready to sew!! Start working on the remaining blocks for my classes so I can get to the runner I am anxious to work on. Halfway through the first block my cutter motor on my machine decides nope nuh uh not gonna cut no more. Ok take her apart clean it all up thinking its thread or fuzz jamming it up. Put it back together, still get jam under needle plate error and no cutting, do that all over again then call hubby . He brings the vac and really cleans it ... still no cutting. check the manuel. *If cutter is not cutting take apart and clean bobbin area* Ok did that 3 times. Check online and see cutter motor may be worn out . Push scissor button and watch to see if cutter moves back and forth. Nope she just stands still. *frown* Have hubby help me get her out of the cabinet and the old 1540 workhorse back in the cabinet. @ hours wasted. plug her in ready to sew step on the pedal and oops break a needle. Duh this is a mechanical machine . Slap self in forehead and chant. must raise presser foot, must lower presser foot, must crank handle wheel to bring up needle, must cut thread with scissors. Ok 2 blocks done a a smidge on the runner. I have had it for today. Of course the place I bought her from is closed on sunday AND hubby starts a brand new job Monday AND the shop is 1 1/2 hours away. Good news is the motor is warranteed for 5 years , she is only 2 1/2 years old. Now to get her there and fixed and back home... ruined my sunday playday.. thanks for listening.
