Got rained out.... :(

Have been looking forward to a Quilting & Knitting expo in Columbia, SC for weeks now (I've never been to one) and of all weekends it decides to rain like we need to build an ark!!! I live about an hour away and it literally rained all day long yesterday and I don't want to & will not drive in anymore than a light shower unless caught in it. So I decided to put it off going until today....according to the Weather Channel website I have a good chance of getting there without getting wet , but may face some showers on the way home (depending on how long I stay ), yesterday they were calling for thunderstorms today. So I am off this morning around 7:45 (with hubby's blessing--he doesn't like me driving long distances by myself, esp in bad weather) so I can get there when they open at 9. My credit card may be smoking by the time I get home! (hoping some of the vendors take credit cards or I may come home relatively empty handed).....will post about my experience when I get back!!

Well.....I'm back! Weather cooperated....nothing more than a light sprinkle the entire round trip. Thank the Lord! Got there right at 9 and being one of the 1st 100 in the door, I got to fill out two entry slips for door prizes & a sewing machine give away. I knew I would not be there for the 3 o'clock drawing for the sewing machine (besides it's been less than a month since I got my new baby--Janome 6600P).....but I did win a door prize! It's a wool kit for a pin cushion with an owl on it.....haven't done any handwork that it requires in years! Bought the crushed walnut shells to fill it. I got a lot of goodies, not sure about grand bargains. But I didn't do as much "damage" as I could have! Will post pics later....I am TIRED! (But a very happy quilter.) If I had stayed longer I could have filled up the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee!!!
