Sally Sue
I'm sure many of you remember me talking about my schnauzer Shugg, and that we lost her to cancer in July. Well my 33rd anniversary is also in July. My DH decided we needed to bite the bullet and get a pet. One week to the day after we lost Shugg we received the call of a puppy available. Enclosed are 2 pics. The same pup, but christened Miss Sally Sue. Lol my daughter was like oh Mom that is soooooooo southern LOL. I will be able to bring her home the 28th. I'm still mourning Shugg, and was concerned I wouldn't bond with this puppy....and then i look at her.

Re: Sally Sue
How cute!
Schnauzers are good dogs. I had Buddy, adopted at the Humane Society in Fort Worth about a year before we had to move. I know I mentioned moving while the lady was doing the paperwork and she froze. She asked if we were planning on taking him with us. It seems a lot of people took dogs back to the shelter when they moved. Buddy was like part of the family, no way he would have stayed behind. He was 17 when we lost him and I never once regretted adopting him.

Re: Sally Sue
Thank you ladies for the kind words. I've been mostly MIA this summer. So much going on. I thought Sally Sue was the perfect topic to jump in with.
Love to all,

Re: Sally Sue
She is cute as a button! :icon_happy: No one will replace Shugg in your heart, but Sally Sue doesn't even have to try! She just has to be herself and become equally as special in your heart for her own wonderful qualities. I am so happy for you! I can't wait to see more pictures of your sweet little pup as she grows. ;)

She is precious. I think Shugg has sent her your way. Have you made her a girly puppy quilt yet?

Re: Sally Sue
LOL Lisa I have a couple things I'm working on already. I've already gone to pet smart and bought puppy food, collar, leash, a few toys. All I lack is a small kennel which I will get at walmart. I'm just happy to be getting her. I miss Shugg every day. It's been abiut 5 weeks and I even asked my DGD as we left the house, is Shugg inside? She looked at me like I was crazy, and of course I burst into tears. Pets just give such unconditional love, we humans would do well to mimic that trait.

Re: Sally Sue
you KNOW how happy I am for YOU! What a cutie pie. I have never met an ugly puppy or kitten, however Sally Sue meets the cuteness factor many times over. Get ready for wet kisses.

Ruby,
Thank you and happy 33rd to you and Don. I was wondering, are you going to the quilt expo in Atlanta? Jenny will be there. It's in September, I'm going to try and go.
