Re: 3 Dudes Pattern...Grrrrrrr...I give up!!
I have two Halloween Jelly Rolls all sorted out to make 2 Halloween quilts for my kids. I though that it was going to be easy based on Jenny's tutorial. NOW I am quite afraid. Thank you for the heads up and those quilts are beautiful!

don't put it away permanently! You will be so happy when it is done

another trick, pin where the seams are supposed to match and ease way before you hit it! I used a high loft batting which totally hid any stretching that occurred with all that easing

This is beautiful!

I think... stitching around all 4 sides..cutting crosswise, then mixing them up and ending up with a bit of a wild design!!!! if they are a bit off.... just square em' up... That's my weird way... but when I post things,, people always say... "wow, wish I could do that!!! LOL... it boggles my mind....

Relax GF's it's meant to be fun,, unless you want to win ribbons,, and I just don't have the attention span for that kind of dedication...

Usually, I care about my seams. But, I agree that this particular one wouldn't matter too much since it is a strip quilt.

It is just about impossible to match the seams on a 3 Dudes. Look closely at the tutorial and you will see that Jenny had some unmatched seams, too. Just do the best you can and it will be beautiful when you are done!

I don't think it is cheating at all. I think it looks just perfect. That is what I will do with the Halloween quilts.

Maybe use a sashing? Then seam matching is a memory. It'll change the look of the quilt, but save some headaches... If you have a honeybun or some jelly roll strips hanging around, you could just lay it out and see what you think!
