Do you know who I think is boring to watch? Fons and Porter. I like to watch Jodie Burrows. I have one of her books, her rulers, and a DVD. Love her.

I am always open to new learning experience, but I have to admit that Jenny is the one that brought me to my sewing machine to actually "do it" instead of just absorbing information. Jenny's down-to-earth style allows for the mistakes we all make and shows us how to deal with them. She presents the journey to us as one of fun and joy rather than perfection. Hands down, she is my go-to lady first. (and she always makes me smile)

YES!!! EXACTLY what Sandy B Said!!! I have watched many quilting tutorials since finding Jenny, and many are good and I learn new things that I can now begin to incorporate. BUT, I never would have thought, " Hey, I think I really could do that!" if I hadn't found Jenny. She makes it all seem so DO-able, and FUN! [and she makes me giggle. . . NONE of the others do that for me.]

I am a huge Eleanor Burns fan! To me, she is warm and genuine, I don't mind her voice a bit and I have several of her books and love her tutes! BUT . . . if I could only watch one person's quilt videos, it would be Jenny over anyone else, hands down! She is just as warm, friendly and genuine, and I relate so much to her quilting style. Every time I watch a tute by Jenny, I feel like I'm spending time with a quilty friend.

Also - now I'm wondering if Jenny was mimicing her in the Jelly Roll Race tutorial when she throws that first 18" cut off of the strip away over her shoulder? I remember the first time I saw that video I thought I wasn't getting a little inside joke - and now that I've seen this EB video where she just tosses the scraps off on the floor I think I might finally be getting the humor.

I pray that this post did not lead anyone to believe that I don't like EB or Fand P or anyone!!!! I was hoping to put the praise and thanks out to Jenny for what she's done for this craft.... I think mostly because she brought it "home to us all"... Quilting IMHO had really gotten a bad rap for having to be about perfection.... that whole 1/4" thing, as I call it was stressed way too much... YES I get the point of it,, but Jenny has proved something I've always tried to mentor to my younger friends... it's not about being perfect,,, it's about having fun and feeling accomplishment.. Progress, NOT Perfection.... it's a Hobby!!!! I was a "groupie" for Alex Anderson and loved each and every guest she had, but my favorite gal.... Rachel Clark,, the girl who just "did it".. google her or watch her old episodes on SQ (HGTV), if you want to see some cool stuff...

I used to see Eleanor Burns on PBS and Alex Anderson's show YEARS ago. She always reminded me of a Romper Room teacher. But, I love her work.
