When you are referring to "table", are you referring to your cutting table, sewing table, ironing surface or all of the above?
I am thinking of ironing, cutting, laying out blocks if you don't use a design wall. Also a good height to sandwich. When you are sitting at your machine I am pretty sure your bent elbow should make a 90% angle to your body.

Re: Where do you sew?
I have a spare bedroom to sew in. It did have a bedroom set in with my sewing but I gave that away and now it's all mine for sewing. I've outgrown it, as my ironing board top sits on a long dresser in the middle of the room and I have to squeeze by to get around. But I am grateful for the space I do have. I would love to have a huge sewing studio someday. I dream of that. We are thinking of putting our house up for sale in the spring and buying a 4 bedroom with a family room and if we do that, I'd love to have the family room for a sewing room, but don't know if I could. I'm just dreaming. I mainly wanted to see where everyone sews.

Re: Where do you sew?
My husband and I own our own company and the space we lease has 2 offices that are about 20x20. I use the 2nd office space. It has a separate entrance but also connects to the main office and warehouse so I have access to the refrigerator, icemaker and coffee maker (which I use the tea k-cups). It also has alarm, and cameras so I can make sure no one breaks in to steal my fabric or machines or notions lol.

My sewing table is nothing more than one of those long white table people use to set things up on... Like for picnics, garage sales and such. My cutting table is the same, as a matter of fact, I have them in an L shape for my convenience. It works for me for now, but sometimes I wish I had the proper tables per say. $$$

Re: Where do you sew?
My sewing space is sewing room/ laundry room/ computer room and is only 6 x 14. I cut on the kitchen table and sandwich there unless its something big then I sandwich on my bed. I have out grown the space but thats all I have so I make do. maybe if I win the jackpot I will upgrade. LOL. I have a 3 foot long ironing board my step father in law made me years ago that sits on top my washer for pressing. My design wall is attached to the wall above the washer and dryer with command hooks and comes down and folds in 3 sections and rolls up into a tidy little roll about the size of a round neck pillow. I do clean up and cover my machines when I am done for the day as hubby would trip on something getting to his computer and the kitty would find the most inconvenient place to lay.

That's interesting!
I have a loft and the stairs are steep. If I want to take a class it's a pain to get one of my machines down. But the room is a pretty nice size. I have three tables and thinking I will take one downstairs so I can a-join it to my dinning table for sandwiching. (then fold it up) Stuff is only sitting on it anyway. A really big cabinet was put together up there and I don't know how I would ever get it downstairs with out taking it apart. Oh and I started keeping it clean.

Re: Where do you sew?
My cutting space is the dining room table. Actually we have two tables in a long line. I found my Mum's old table in a local second hand shop so I bought it and put it next to mine. I share the cutting space with my son's computer and my computer.
There's enough room, just about and when anyone comes round for a meal I extend the tables and shove all my stuff to the far end!
My sewing space is the opposite side of the table.
My design wall isn't really a wall. I hang the blocks by pegs from the bookshelves and they drape in front of the piano.
Storage space is the rest of the house.

Re: Where do you sew?
Many years ago my loft was converted so I could sew there. As my kids grew out of toys and books ect. it all ended up in the loft. I can't get them to take all their junk to their own homes. So now I use the dinning room. I am looking out for a dressing table and my son-in-law can sink my sewing machine, that will give me a larger area for quilting.

Re: Where do you sew?
My sewing area is an extra bedroom. It used to also be a spare guest room, but last year we got rid of the daybed and put cabinets on that wall, which greatly expanded my fabric storage area.
I have sewn everywhere: dining room table, snack bar, on my bed, on the porch, in the basement, on the coffee table. It's a blessing to have a room dedicated to my sewing. I can leave the room a mess and just close the door and walk away. I guess we would all love to have the studio of our dreams, but I'm content with what I have right now.
Terri, my cabinets and their contents are in my album if you would care to look. I have much more fabric in them now than when the pics were taken, but they still work great for me. I wish I could have squeezed in just one more cabinet on that wall!
