Default Need suggestions for center of tablecloth

I am making a tablecloth from scrap fabrics that I have. And actually it has turned out better than I expected. The table cloth is made of 6.5 x 6.5" squares sew together in rows. The center squares I have left out because I would like to add an insert of some kind, quilted of course, and am not sure what to do with the center. Any suggestions? I tried to post a pic of the tablecloth, but for some reason I always have a hard time with that. Sorry folks, no picture.

I had thought of maybe a star pattern in the center, but am not sure. I have no "theme" in my kitchen, so it doesn't really matter what pattern I use. I'd love to hear what suggestions you all have.

    Thanks in advance.

It will come as no surprise that my suggestion will be a Dresden!

Have you considered doing a Dresden for the center? Not knowing the size of the opening you will have, it is difficult to say - but Jenny's large star makes a wonderful table-sized cloth. Someone on the forum just posted a picture of one they had finished in the last few days but I can't find it now - here's Jenny's tutorial though: The Big Star Quilt - Quilting Made Easy! - YouTube

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

    See, I knew Kathy would mention a Dresden . . . she's very partial.

Maybe a pieced basket with flowers? Eleanor Burns does these using HST's.
