Quick Quilt Pattern
Quilting question does come in to this ... but I might make you tear up a bit first
Thursday evening I received the terrible news my 18 month old niece had passed away due to a terrible accident. My brother (her dad) had accidentally run over her with their small SUV and a trailer loaded down with rocks, cement, and general construction debris.
Sweet Eliza, a life cut too short -
April 5, 12012-August 8, 12013

She leaves behind a sister who will turn 3 the first part of December. I'm sure it will be a long time before little Ana stops asking where her friend and sister is. She also leaves behind my SIL who is due the end of December and my brother - her father - who is weighed down with guilt and grief.
Besides the grief of losing my petite blond headed niece my own little girl is just two months younger ... she was born June 15th -- oh my I have sure been hugging her tight.
When it comes to tragedies I cope by making comfort food and quilts. I talked to my family and they agreed that I could bring a bunch of quilt patches to have those who attend the funeral, especially family, sign. I will put this larger quilt together for my brother and his wife. I also want to bring a completed quilt for little Ana. I need your favorite quick quilt patterns. This is one of those times I really wish I had access to a long arm quilting machine. Also; any fabric that is soft and snuggly like flannel but holds up better? All my flannel quilts seem to quickly fall apart.
