Default Sometimes you need to just walk away...

I got around to putting together MY queen quilt. (For anyone that follows my scattered quilting projects, that would be the 'City Blocks' one charm pack wonder, embellished with teal, and B&W...)
HST blocks all squared off and sashed. BIG blocks, mind you. (15 1/2"). I get to ROW 3, and at the end of the row, I am OFF, by a third of an inch, I'm guessing. WTH!!?
Now I am not a perfectionist. I let a couple of things slide the first two ROWS...
I frogged twice, maybe three times with ROW 3. I was hoping the 'feed dogs' would straighten me out.
    AH, NO....
I walked away for nearly half a week. And then the 'light bulb' moment occurred. Thank you, Captain Obvious!
    A miss-cut on a SASH, (maybe 1/4" or so).
Someone was looking out for me! It's at the END of the row....
JEEZ. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

    Happy Quilting, my friends!

I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

For me, the best answers to a problem come when I go and think about something else. Good catch!

Frustration is supposed to help us grow as human beings. I would like to grow less but I do understand what you experienced. I can't wait to see the finished project.

The important thing is knowing when to walk away.............we have all been there before.

    Glad you found the problem!

You are right...sometimes you just have to walk away....I was having trouble with a mystery quilt I had done....I had made so many mistakes ..(I usually don't make that many but this time....sigh!)...I left it on my design wall and walked away for a few weeks...finally went back at it and figured out how to fix it; it is now on my hand quilting frame with my own design for quilting and I am working on the borders...the body is all quilted now.....and I am loving this quilt....I call it "Summer into Fall" and it is going to be all mine! The weeks I left is sitting on the design wall I hated it....didn't even want to see it but couldn't let it go on like that forever so that motivated me to get it off the wall so I could start something else....and it worked! I can feel your pain and frustration at the time but I am sure you are feeling much better about it now...but I think it happens to all of us at one time or another....and you are right...just walk away!
I can't wait to see the finished product!
