Quilt Show This Weekend

I love August because it means the Plano Quilt Show in Plano, TX. This year it is the 9th and 10th.

Over the past few years I have come up with a system to go to the quilt show. I pre-purchase my tickets to save $1.00 and by pass the lines. I go on Friday morning when it opens by myself and scope it out and make the purchases I "must" have, and a list of purchases I will come back for if there is any money left in my quilt show cash stash, and a list of purchases I need to think about and price online.

Saturday I go back with friends. This year I am calling it my "crip" day. All the ladies are a little older than I am and many of them have been dealing with different issues, bad knees, bad backs, etc. Since I will have already scoped out the show I will be able to point most of them in the right direction for their interests and that will spare them a little wear and tear.

I really hope that the stencil ladies from Arkansas are back this year. They had some amazing stencils and tips last year. I also can't wait to see what new gadgets are out there that might peak my interest.

Sounds like fun!! My brother & SIL live in Houston and since I know nothing about the geography of TX, how close is it to Plano??She's been an avid quilter for years! There is a quilting & knitting (?) expo next weekend about an hour from me, my wheels are already turning & my credit card is already feeling the heat!!

There is a quilt show about 15 minutes from me this weekend and I am planning on going myself. It is in three separate areas of Lowell, MA with a shuttle in between. I am not sure how I feel about that but I am going to give it a shot. This will be my first one.

Sounds a little odd, but then I have never been to a big quilt show. Our local county museum has an annual "show" every November, but it is very small....totally contained within the museum. Have fun & let us know about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Since I am still pretty new to all of this, is there somewhere (website etc) that I can keep up with or bookmark this? I am about 4 to 5 hrs from Charlotte....depending on who is driving.
