Need some advice.

I have a Grace frame that is fine for doing straight lines or large patterns; I always have to take the quilt off the frame to finish some of the designs that have to be turned. I haven't done anything larger than a baby/crib size, since i am too slow. I have been using the perle cotton thread (thanks Blondie) for my latest baby quilts, since the stitches don't have to be quite as small and I can do these without a frame while watching tv.

I do a lot of hand quilting. I have hand quilted small table runners, queen size quilts and everything in between. I have used two different types of frames and a 14" hoop. I prefer a hoop, even for very large quilts. My favorite hoop is 14" and heavy plastic. I got mine from Hobby Lobby. They are about $22 but there are always coupons online for 40% off. I really prefer the heavy plastic over any wooden hoops.

Our quilting club has been using a large frame on a queen size quilt. I was very unhappy when we took it off to finish it by hoop because the lady needed her frame back. There were wrinkles in the backing that were not there when we put it on the frame. Make sure you have you fabrics even and straight when attaching to the frame.

I think I would use the fan frame to display your quilts.

Also when you hoop quilt your are much more portable.

Whatever you decide, I am sure it will be gorgeous.
