I am so stupid!
Last year I drew my sister in law for our Christmas drawing decided to make her a quilt since there was not much time I worked on it every free minute. When I came to the last row I went to put it on and found it too short got so mad at myself and had to buy a present for her. I am in the process of converting our computer room into my craft room I pulled out a storage tub with the quilt in it thinking I now have time to try and fix it what did I find? Last year I was trying to put the last row on the side of the quilt!! Maybe I can use it this year !

Re: I am so stupid!
Sorry, but that's funny! Oh, what a mistake! But now you'll have a lovely quilt to finish. Show us when the top is done! I'd love to see it!

Re: I am so stupid!
We can make those kinds of mistakes when we're under pressure. Consider it a lesson learned and finish the quilt and give it as a gift this year! That turns a minus into a plus!!

Re: I am so stupid!
Just think. Christmas shopping started...result . :icon_woohoo:

Re: I am so stupid!
Love this! So much like something I would have done. And you are definitely NOT stupid, Louise; maybe a tad distracted... :D
Hope you enjoy fixing the quilt, and I'm sure your SIL will love it!

Re: I am so stupid!
Too funny! Sounds just like something I might do when under pressure and dog tired! :D
But on the bright side, you now will have a finished quilt in no time!! :D

Re: I am so stupid!
How funny. Did you have a few choice words when you discovered that? lol I have some ufo's in strips folded away, so this is a good warning actually :)

Re: I am so stupid!
Haste makes waste as they say. But, this serves as a reminder that we are now in August and it is time to for me to get busy on the four or five projects I didn't get finished last year and get them finished up for this year.
Cute story - and I can totally see myself doing something like that.

Re: I am so stupid!
Oh my dear, I can so relate to that! You know when your are at that point, where you aren't sure if you should laugh or cry. . . yea, YOU know, [me too!]

Re: I am so stupid!
That is funny but not to you I am sure. But now you can finish it in time for Christmas.

Re: I am so stupid!
Oh boy - I chuckled out loud on that one! On the bright side - it won't take you long to 'fix' it now!

Re: I am so stupid!
Sounds like something I would do! You are just ahead of the game for this year. :)

Sounds like something I would do too!

Re: I am so stupid!
1-maybe she just wasn't meant to have it last Christmas.
2-I most certainly have done this type of thing. More times than I care to count.
3-now you are ahead of the game if this can be a Christmas present this year.
4- how cool, one row to attach and a quilt top is done. Easy peasy!
You are among like souls from all of the others here who admit to doing things like that.

Re: I am so stupid!
We all have those "duh" moments! On of mine was when I was working on my mom's wall hanging. I was ironing trans-web onto the back of my applique pieces.......a few at a time and then ironing them in place. I picked up one piece and kept trying and trying to get the paper backing to peel off......and I kept trying........getting frustrated because no matter what I did I couldn't get the paper to peel away! After I was completely aggravated I had my "duh" moment......I had not ironed the trans-web to the back of that piece yet!!!! Well Duuhhhh........no wonder the paper would not peel off!!
It happens to all of us sooner or later! :D

Re: I am so stupid!
Sorry, but it made me giggle....because it sounds exactly like something I would do. I have major perfectionistic tendencies, a bit OCD and get distracted VERY easily! Not a good combination. So glad you didn't toss it and your SIL will have a beautiful quilt. One gift down.... ??? to go.... :)
