Well, I've made 5 trips to Ohio from Wisconsin to spend time with mom. She is actually doing really well, and got herself a little dog, which helps her feel less alone, and getting out for walks does a world of good. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes through this difficult time. On this last trip, I finished this small floor/play quilt for a friend having twins. The original pattern was on Moda Bake Shop, but I added the 2nd word Click image for larger version.

So the next trip I make is to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin this Friday. My 14-year-old is having a procedure to correct his sunken chest (layman's terms). His last growth spurt brought on some breathing issues, and months of doctors and tests have led us to this. A 5-6 hour operation and 5-6 day stay. It's considered closed-heart surgery although there is nothing wrong with his heart. They will insert a "rod" behind his rib cage to open the chest cavity. I am not fearing the surgery, but I am feeling paralyzed by the pain he will experience afterward (The first 2 weeks he'll be heavily medicated). I hope that I will be strong, helpful, patient, and not overbearing as he mends. My request is for prayers to guide the operating team's hands, and to positively lead me through another difficult period. Thank you all so very much --Linda
