oooh - they are pretty!
Hugs,
Well, I've been missing out! I have had a blue/purple Rose of Sharon and loved it, but I haven't even heard of the Crepe Myrtle. Those are really lovely, I can guess in a tree form that they would be stunning. Up in Washington, in the Olympic Rainforest they have a small Rhodadendron forest, Rhodies in every color of the rainbow that have grown up into huge trees. I've never seen it, but my father has and he told me all about it. Something else on my wish list, of things to see and do. I LOVE flowers. I need to post an album of my flowers to share, they are many more than the quilts I have made to date! Lol.
Just gorgeous! There are a few around where I live and I just love seeing them in bloom.
We have several that came from the Arbor Day Foundation stick bundles they send when you renew your membership. It just doesn't get hot enough for them to bloom here in Wash. I do like their shape so we have let them just be green shrubs with an airy nature. My grandparents in OK have some lovely ones.
Miss Sheri, The rhodies are beautiful! Make sure you visit in the spring, as that is when most of them are in bloom. There are a few lovely places to stay out there. Let me know when you get to that section of your travel wish list, and I'll see what I can find for you. We've had some wonderful mini-vacations on the Olympic Peninsula.
Someday. . . wishing it were sooner than later. . . because it is just one of the loveliest places on this beautiful earth, don't ya think?!
My siblings and I used to roll down the car windows as we were crossing from Eastern Wa. to Western Wa. over Steven's Pass and "hand surf" ~ Just letting the silky feel of the air flow over our hands dipping and rising on the air as we entered the western side of the Cascades. I think I gained my love of flowers from the Rhodedendrons that grew in our yard when I was a little girl.
Oh Jean these are beautiful!
Just now seeing this! Very pretty, Thanks for sharing!
