    Default My daughters quilt

My DD was over the other day and once again commented that I have yet to make a quilt for her. I mentioned a couple that I had given her but she said she wanted one that I made FOR her, not just make a quilt and give it to her. Today I went in my sewing room and saw this.

My first thought was a friendship braid, any other ideas?

QUOTE=lilmouse;351151]Fence rail with diamonds?[/QUOTE]My thoughts exactly! Where did you get the jelly rolls? They are pretty colors. Oh, I looked up close, they are Big Lots JRs. I made this one using Big Lots JRs. Not diamonds but pinwheels, and a bit trickier.

I have those two JR's. They are from Big Lots. I am planning on doing a Summer in the park with a cream base. That has been the plan for months but once I actually open them up and look at the pattern again I very well could change my mind. I made a Zig Zag runner with the charm pack. I am thinking of making placemats with the 3rd JR in this pattern to go with it.

Pretty fabric.. I really like the friendship braid quilts, I think it would look nice. I also like the one that Jean is showing. Keep us posted.

I have those, too. I plan on using them for the Merry G Round with a light green as the background but need to find something for the pop fabric, maybe some turquoise perhaps.

I think I have some of those as well. I know our Big Lots still has some. That is about the equivalent of one normal sized jelly roll so you have enough for a good sized lap quilt. If you need more, let me know and I can check the stores here if yours don't have any.

Couldn't you just show her 3 or 4 that you feel comfortable doing and let her choose? That way she will feel like you really listened and gave her that once in a lifetime quilt all her own. I'm all about choice.
