I've stopped buying pre-cuts for the most part because I have so much trouble deciding what to do with them.

Pam and Nicky Lincott have several books out mainly about jelly rolls that have a lot of great patterns. Most use one jelly roll paired with a solid fabric of your choosing.

I think it would be so beneficial if M* would recommend some solids to go with the pre-cuts on the DD. They would sell more fabric and we would get a bit more for our shipping $.

I have several jr and lc or charm packs waiting to be made into something. I usually buy a yard or two of a coordinating print or solid to go along with the precuts. My problem is that I have a pattern in mind when I buy something, but then I change my mind unless I start on it right away. I guess I just overthink this stuff. Happy that I am not the only one with this problem though.

Thanks for the link on the pineapple block...I think that is doable for me with the 2 1/2 in strips...sure is pretty.

Usually I only buy fabric with a specific project in mind. Occasionally I just can't leave some fabric/pre-cuts behind because I fall in love with them. Those are the ones that haunt me because I sit for months looking at them and have no idea what to do with hit. I held a Swirl JR for months then the falling charms quilt tutorial came out and it was still a month or more before I decided to use that JR for that quilt. When I fall for a pattern it makes it a lot easier to use that and go buy fabric/precuts with a finished project in mind.

    You are not alone.

I just love the Ellie Ann fabric. I have been very tempted to buy more with the recent DD s but there is so much more I want to do with other fabrics, too.
I made a Kim Bracket design with a EA jelly roll. I pulled out the orange tones and used them for another quilt, can't find that picture.Anyone Else Have This Problem?-dsc04841.jpg

When I buy a DD or precut elsewhere I usually buy a yard or two of one of the small prints for borders or binding so I will have something that matches and usually expect to add background as well.

The first class I ever took was the pineapple blossom from Bonnie Hunter and it was reasonably easy to do and since you used all the little cut off pieces it didn't waste much if anything.
