A Slew of Commissions

A friend of mine put on facebook last night that she was looking for a friend who quilts to make a few things for her. She and I had quite the discussion, let me tell you!

First up: Three protective hanging bags about the size of pillow cases where she can keep her completed counted cross stitch pieces safe and dust free. I'll put a 1/2" dowel across the top fold and stitch it in place. I'll leave a slit in the top center for the hanger and put a zipper in the bottom. I may go crazy and put a zipper down the center front as well. What do you think?

Next, she wants a wall hanging made from a fairy panel she found in deep purples rich greens. After that she wants a tote bag a la Vera Wang to keep her current stitching projects.

Last but not least she wants a lap quilt made out of the same fairy fabric.

Should be interesting and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Sounds good and since she does cross stitch she knows the value of your time and hopefully will pay you well. I bet her fairy fabric is some by Michael Miller. He has a lot of different fairy panels and I seem to remember the one in purples.

Only take on what you really feel you CAN do right now! We want you to get all better without any hitches. The projects sound interesting, but please don't over do it.

Meli, were you still on the percocet when you committed to all these projects? :lol: Please tell us you are being WELL paid!!

Meli, those all sound like great projects. I hope you are well paid and do not have a quick timeline for getting them done. You need to let your body heal. Hoping the need for pain meds is going away as well as the side effects.
