Re: I am soooo bummed out!
oh NOO - Check for local sewing machine repair shops! They will have a cord that fits. We are living in our RV until we get home about mid-October. It's SEW much fun to sew and quilt in a smaller space lol Glad to hear I've got RV company!
Does your campground have picnic tables ? What is your RV layout for sewing? Love to see the ideas!
No, no way anyone should go months without sewing!!! Good luck and hope you find one SOON
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
Hope you find a cord..it happens though...keep us posted
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
If you can't find one, is there any way we could find one for you and mail it?
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
What machine do you have? Is it possible to receive mail at the campground? Amazon might have it. Or Ebay.
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
What is your machine and maybe we can help. I lost one for my kindle and a battery charger for my camera. There are generic one's out there that are perfectly fine.
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
Oh thank you all sooooo much! I found cords online but you know how we are... who wants to wait for a cord to be shipped!!! NOT ME!! Can you believe there are NO vacuum/sewing machine places in this town (Ada, OK) at all???? I went to Walmart and actually found this young fellow extremely helpful. He sent me to Radio Shack and they had it!!! he knew exactly what I was looking for and sent me to the right place. On top of that, it was less expensive than the ones online. I am a happy sewer again!
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
OK, probably a novice question, but I have to know. My Brother and my mom's Singer both have a combination foot pedal and power cord - the plug into the machine is connected to both. Do higher end machines have separate power cords?

Hi Debbie! We have been in an RV for the most part of 15 years now. We do have a small place for the past 5 years back home where our kids are (Little Rock, AR). I have made a couple of my quilt tops in the campgrounds we have been in while enjoying the outdoors at the picnic table. At least when we had a good view and nice neighbors to talk to. For now we are in Ada, Okla and most of the "campgrounds" are basically places for the pipe-liners to park their rigs while they work. Very close together and few with picnic tables.
My RV has the bedroom in the front, living/kitchen/dining combo in center and a small room in the back next to the bathroom. That room slides out and offers a fold-away bunk bed above a nice sofa which makes into a queen air bed, a desk with a TV and we have a freezer in there. I have adopted that room as my sewing/craft room. It works out perfectly because I can set up my machine, use the freezer for ironing/cutting space and watch TV to boot! It is small but works out really nicely for me.
Please share with me how you work your space out in the RV! I also love to hear how others do these things.

Amy I really don't have an answer for you. I have four machines and they all have separate cords/foot pedals. I'm so glad of this because if not, I would not have found a cord for my machine.
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
I am so interested in this thread-I was just telling my youngest daughter(will be in 2nd year of college) how I would love to get a camper or rv and live in it once I retire--traveling the country and choosing the weather we prefer. My husband grew up spending summers with his parents camping-they had a pop-up. I have never been much of an adventurer(my idea of camping is sleeping at a hotel)-but as I get closer to possibly retiring(9 more years) living that live as a free spirit seems like it would be fun.
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
Can someone from "home" mail the cord to you???

Hey there Bellasnanny! Yes, it has been a great 15 years. I am so ready to settle down now though and I thought I would never feel that! Now is the time I want to spend with family and great/grandchildren. Please, if you feel the urge to go "on the road" please know it is so worth it. However, you must be prepared to start all over again if you sell your home and have only your RV which is what we did. It has turned out to be a blessing for us even if it has been tough. We went through a lot of our money while on the road and we also worked in campgrounds and RV parks plus we sold Christmas trees in Memphis for three seasons. You will be surprised at how much it takes to re-start with a new home (mobile in our case), septic system, insurance, water and power bills... etc. Things you just take for granted before hitting the road are now "additional" expenses to us! We do not regret our decision because we got to spend tons of time with my aging parents letting them show us this wonderful country of ours that otherwise we would not have seen. Loved every second of it!

Both my Vikings do. The pedal and power cord are separate.
My old singer was combined.
Re: I am soooo bummed out!
My Janome, Husqvarna and Brother machines all have separate plug and pedal cords. My old Bernina has them joined.
