Here in Germany we have to pay taxes for parcels when their value is above 40 or 50$. I´m not quite sure about the exact amount. Another option might be using an mailforwarder like shipito. Might be an alternative for you as well, Christine.
Evilynn (Steffie) recommended this to me and I tried it and am very satisfied with how it worked. My order was pretty quickly delivered and mailforwarding saved me 10$
Goodmorning Andrea.
Thank you for the information. In Belgium you do not pay taxes when the amount is less than 20€. You don’t buy a lot of fabric for that money. When your order is less than 150 €, you pay taxes and handling fees as I did this morning. If your order is above 150€ you have to pay duties on top of the taxes and the handling fees. That’s why I was very careful when I placed my order, not to buy for more than 150€. I will look into a mail forwarder, although I have no idea how this works.
But when I split the order into smaller parcels , I will have to pay the expensive shipping costs for each parcel, and I don’t think that will save me a lot of money in the end.

It is such a pity that shipping is so expensive for us, otherwise I would be ordering all the time.
