Ya know, I forgot that we had swapped the batiks earlier this year, this would be a perfect choice! Time will tell.

I just have one tiny question. If choosing the batiks is there going to be a rule about what black to use? Just like whites, blacks are all different too. I never joined a block swap so I was curious

HI Lorie, Good question! And the answer is yes, there will be a specific black. I like Kona Black. It is easily obtainable at any quilt shop that I have ever been into and is reasonably priced so as not to break the fabric bank (unlike the batiks will do)

I will be putting up the group after the poll closes to make sure that we have the popular vote.

Here is a question for all of you, it is almost neck and neck with the scrappy and black. Would you like me to have two swaps at the same time, one for batiks and one for scrappy?

Joann's sells Batiks and sometimes you can get them on sale. You can also start using your 40% off coupons and buy one or two cuts every time you get a new coupon. I get mine in the flyers, the computer, the web site and my phone, so there are plenty of 40% off coupons out there. Also my Joanns will accept Hobby Lobby coupons, so there is another one right there! Just got to get creative and think outside the box
They also accept michaels and hancocks coupons.

I will posting this group on or about the 12th of August. Currently I have running "Into the Light" mystery quilt, Christmas Log cabin - New Quilter #3 (that needs lots more players) and 4 fabric swaps (two that are currently in progress).

I think this one is on my schedule to sign up by September 15, so there is still plenty of time for me to post it and you to sign up for it. Please don't purchase fabric for this swap as it has not even been posted yet and I will have no idea how many blocks we will be making (unless you really find a good deal on batiks)

Here is the schedule for the rest of this year and into 2014
