Oh I am WAY to lazy to try making my own chenille! If I want chenille on something, I better find a piece of chenille fabric to make it or it is NOT happening. My faux chennile quilt was started many years ago (about 10 yrs) when my DH bought his 1970 VW Bug. It had no heat so I thought that this would be a nice quilt for him to throw inside for passengers. It won't be used now for the Bug cause it's been sitting in the driveway for the past 4 yrs or so and doesn't work - guess I'll throw it in the pile of finishes when it's done for a "I'm chilly" night.

A friend of mine made potholders with hers. The tool is perfect for making nice thick potholders with just scraps of fabric.
Oh my! Just found the quilt and the cutter. The few lines I have to cut yet - wrong. I have a few more lines to sew. Then I need to cut them ALL. And then bind it and wash it. Well, it's getting me to work on it and finish it - so thank you Lorie.

I love the look of these quilts, especially those ducks! I might give a small one a try but I don't think I would buy the tool. I would probably just use scissors.
Lori - just an update. First, if I were you, I would keep your cutting instrument in your de-stash pile. (Mine went in the garbage!) I would cut 2 or 3 lines, then it would just STOP! I pull it back, cut a little more, STOP! That got annoying. I kept changing it to the next number too like the directions said. Didn't really help. So, finally I picked up a pair of scissors. Yes, it took me a few days to get all 237 lines cut. I only had 4 little cuts in the backing fabric which I plan on appliqueing a circle on them. Then the binding is next before I wash and dry it. It is about 46"x64". I'll post a photo when it's done. I will NEVER do another one of these. I probably have gotten 2 quilt tops made in the time it took me to cut these boogers.
