    Default Embroidery question from beginner

Is it possible to embroider an initial on the cuff of a pillowcase? I have two tube cases I made and would like to stitch the initial on, but it would have to be done on two layers of fabric. Is this possible or too tricky to attempt?

I would think it would be almost impossible to do it before the case is sewn together. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Renate

I made them for my entire family several Christmases ago. I embroidered the names on them before I put the cuffs on. It is just tricky for the way to turn the fabric to do the embroidery and where to place it.Embroidery question from beginner-image.jpg

    Sure you can.
I embroidered over a small hole that happened to be right smack in the middle of the cuff on a pillowcase. They are plenty big enough to manipulate the case in the hoop to position the design.

If you mean hand embroider, you can do that too and you could even do it so the embroidery only showed on the top if you were careful.

You can embroider on the cuff before you put it together. Make sure it is in the right direction.

You can embroider either way. The pillow cases are wide enough that it allows hooping.

I've been known to embroidery it on a separate contrasting color and sew on with dec. stitch or even just fuse and stitch around...

Yes you can. Since you are going through two layers, I would put a new needle on first but you can do it.
    Thank you,
