Unhappy Disappointed in MSQC DD and story today on the 4th of July

I always read the DD email and today my anticipation was deflated. Snowmen? Really?
I know a bit of humor is always good for the soul but this is a day rich in history. Battles lost and won and all the history this day represents. Maybe I'm over reacting or maybe I'm just being sensitive to what this day represents.

I know they have to sell for Christmas but come on, its Independence Day.

I totally respect all thoughts on this, but for me, I felt it was a nice, whimsical tie in between the 4th and Christmas, with a respectful nod toward remembering this was a patriotic day. Afterall, not only is this an international site where many here do not celebrate this day, but they are in business to sell fabric and it's too late to make an Independence Day quilt for this year, but plenty of time to make one for Christmas.

I think the daily deal was patriotic a week or so ago...........so we could make the project in time for the 4th of July.

Let's not get carried away with comments... They give enough in the overall picture...
Of course, we are all patriotic,,, just don't forget the famous "Christmas in July" sale that has been tradition!
    Love to all,,, SMILE!!!!!
ps... great movie coming out called CopperHead... the story sounds amazing and very appropriate...

CopperHead?? Have not heard of that one but just the name does make me shudder as I have had several encounters with copperhead snakes in my yard. Needless to say yard work is not enjoyable to me anymore. Another reason to stay inside and quilt!

Actually, I think all comments were respectfully worded without any rancor. That's one of my favorite things about this forum, we can differ in opinion, but for the most part, those opinions are worded nicely and we are pretty great (when necessary) at "agreeing to disagree" with a smile on our faces.

The DD could be used for something patriotic. The Christmas stockings for the troops group

I bet those snowmen are very independent. Enjoy the day.
