Embriodery machine problem
I have a Babylock Ellegante. I was only using it for embroidery. Well that's dumb because it was expensive and I could of been using it for so many other things, like quilting because it has a walking foot. Duh
I never had a problem with any designs other than some companies are thread heavy. The last time I used the machine was to take it to class so I could use the walking foot. I got it out the other day for embroidery and it won't acknowledge the hoop size. I tried about five times with designs I have used before. It started stalling and sewing over the same area and the worst is the needle was going down on the frame.
I called the shop and the girl just said bring everything in. She sounded like a newbie because when I questioned her it was just a repeat.
I know I have to bring it in but do you know what might cause this? Timing etc?
I had a project to do and I feel sick I can't use it plus I wanted to practice some FMQ

Re: Embriodery machine problem
I don't have an embroidery machine, but if my regular machine was behaving that way I'd say the timing was off.

Re: Embriodery machine problem
I have a lower end babylock combo machine. Have you have turned it off, pulled the embroidery module off and turned it back on as a regular sewing machine and then off again and plug in the embroidery module back in? Sometimes, a good "reboot" is all they need. I hope that is all it will take. Otherwise, off to the dealer with it.

I'll try that Lisa. I did turn it off and kept trying but not as many steps you mentioned.

Re: Embriodery machine problem
when you turn it off unplug the plug from the machine and leave it for 15 minutes. Then go back and plug it in and turn it on without the emb module. sometimes it has to sit for a few minutes to reboot properly.

Re: Embriodery machine problem
I had to have the sensor(?) replaced on my UTL a few years ago. It wasn't reading the patterns right and hit the hoop. I had been using it for emb. about 8-9 yrs. at that point. I use it more for sewing/quilting now, rarely emb.

Re: Embriodery machine problem
Thanks Bakermom, I'll remember that when if I take it in.
The question about this problem is that even though I've had the machine for awhile I haven't used it that much. It's a bit hot right now so I will give the tips a try when it cools off
