    Default Fleece at Walmart 7/1/2013

For anyone looking for warm backing this winter, run by Walmart. They are dumping the fleece again at 1 to 2 bucks a yard with a few types at 5 to 6 bucks. Not to brag, But I got 4 yrds of tan, blue and purple for 4 bucks. I also got 5 yrds of red and yellow for 2 bucks a yrd. This will really add to my stash for winter and fall quilts.

How did you find someone at Walmart to cut your fabric? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

How does this work to use instead of batting?

I think they are using it as backing, not batting.

I've never purchased fabric from Walmart and also avoid that store if at all possible. I did have to go there the other day though, and after all the stories on here, I was shocked to see a worker at the fabric counter just waiting for a customer! I did manage to get out of there without buying any fabric though!

Maybe she means that she uses the fleece for the back and doesn't use any batting in between? Also, has anyone used their fleece? I have never used it and wondered how it holds up.

I was at WM today for other stuff and checked the fleece, it was not on sale in Alabaster Alabama so I left it there, no one the cut it anyway as per usual.

Several people in the forum have used the fleece instead of traditional batting.
My guess is you can quilt it much farther apart without the worry of it shredding and bunching after a few washings.

Well, I have THREE Wally-Worlds within 15 minutes of me...each in a different direction, of course. I know that two of them carry at least some fabric....not sure about the newest one. Haven't checked out the fabric area (not big enough for me to call an actual department). May have to make a trip just to see. :-) Before one of them relocated and became larger, the original store had a very large fabric department and two ladies that seemed to always be in that dept to help customers....guess when they get bigger, customer service goes down the drain......
