Default Hexagons glue stick or needle and thread

I am going to be starting to make some hexes(THANK YOU, ROBIN!) and I have been watching tutorials on it this morning. It seems that some use the glue and some needle and thread. What do most of you here do and if you use glue, do you have a preference of brand/color etc.?

Thank you for asking, I did a queen size with elmers glue. I am not sure if it was a good choice or not. I know that was in 1997.
This year I picked it apart and am going to incorporate the flowers in other things.
I just stuck a pin through the glue spots,as i thought it might be hard to sew through. Now mind you i havent washed the glue out.
Some of the corners are stiff but it doesnt seem to bad. I didnt use papers then, just folded them on the lines i traced on the fabric.
I dont thing i will use glue, myself nexttime. I dont know if any of this helps or not. good luck

I am using needle and thread. You little kit has needles, thread, scissors, 2.5 inch squares of fabric and hexi papers. There isn't a huge amount of fabric but it's enough to get you started. I meant to put a card in the package but left it at home on the counter. I was rushing to get to FedEx as soon as it opened and forgot it. Have fun!!!!

Thank you so much Robin. I am so excited to get this and start. I checked FedEx twice today and it still says Tuesday. LOL I am thinking I will bring my fabric up tomorrow and start cutting out the other two quilts and by Tuesday I may be desperate. LOL
Today I got all my print out patterns in page protectors and in the binder. And I have one of the schedule books ready to print for School starting in Aug. so feel it has been a very productive day while I was in the waiting room. It sure helps time go faster if you have your hands and mind busy on something.

When I think about it Robin, I guess I was thinking the thread and needle you said you were sending was for sewing them together.

I also use needle and thread. When I baste them I only baste the back so I won't have to take out all those stitches later. I was using this template Texas Freckles: Downloads and Patterns until I realized that I have a hexie template on my cricut. They're fun to do and they really do add up quick. Go to the hexagon group and you will get lots of tips, tricks and inspiration there.

I use a Sewline Glue pen, I LOVE it! It's super fast and easy. Sometimes the glue can get thick and it's harder to sew through, but it is SO FAST to baste it's well worth it to me.

I have not found there to be any difference in the different colors it comes in.

I haven't done any hexies, but I know I'd use the glue. Just threading the needle gives me a problem, although I know there are devices that make that easier.
