Thanks, Sue! We've been having quite a problem here in CT as well. I'm thinking with all the rain in the past two months, they're just trying to find a way to avoid drowning!

A couple of years ago I got some liquid ant repellant at Ocean State Job Lots; it comes in a small (1" x 2.5") plastic tray that you open and leave on the window sill or under the baseboard or wherever, and it really worked great. All the ants were gone in about 48 hours and they did not come back at all for the rest of the year. Of course, now that we're infested again, I can't remember the name of it. So I'm going to try your remedy instead!
