Congrats!! Have a ball getting to know your new baby :)
This is true. I made two quilts with that Brother machine and finished another quilt top on it just this past Thursday. The quilt top I just finished had a lot of applique, some of it very small, and it was such a struggle for me to turn that fabric through the harp 49 times to complete all the appliques. That's when I hoisted the white flag and told my husband he was right, I was going to seriously look at larger machines.
My comment about the Brother was not meant to offend any users of this model Brother machine. It is still a great machine and I would not think of letting it go. My comment about everyone giggling was more about my naiveté in thinking I would never need to consider another machine.
I apologize to you and any others who thought I was speaking in a demeaning manner.
Gerri
Congratulations on your new machine. I got one - same model as yours - a couple of weeks ago and I'm totally thrilled with it. I call mine "Big Red" LOL. I love all the features and all the feet that comes with it. I have not regretted buying it. I also got a great deal. The machine is so easy to use.
Have fun.
Congrats...I up graded last year as well...to a Brother esp. for quilting. Wow makes all the difference.
Just the self threader made the price worth well...no more searching for the little hole...ok searching for my glasses first...then the little hole.
ENJOY!
Wow Gerri, congratulations! Enjoy your new machine. :icon_woohoo:
Congrats on your new best friend; it is always fun to play around with the new toy, isn't it?
Enjoy your new machine!!
Congrats to you!! :-) I am eyeballing the Baby Lock Melody that Mary Fons uses in her tutorials, and read somewhere (here maybe??) that Jenny also uses one. My LQS said the price is $1,799.99, but I can get it for $1,259.99 (30% off).....gotta make up my mind....that price won't last forever. Just recently got a credit card that is 0% interest for the first 18 months, so I could purchase it and pay it off over several months, and not pay any interest. I am a beginner when it comes to quilting, but started sewing in the 8th grade in Home Ec. Honestly haven't sewn a garment in YEARS....having 4 boys in 5 years really cut down on the sewing time and energy! lol So what to y'all think? Should I go for it??
