Default Chit chat and the pupil become the teacher

    Hi

This past saturday I went to visit with my sister ( the one that tought me quilting) for a day of quilting and talking and looking at books and magasin about quilting.

We had a very good day and the funny thing is I got to teach her fmq by domestic sewingmachine.
She has only done handquilting before. I showed her 505 basting spray and showed her to fmq on her machine.
    That was fun!

Yeasterday I continued on my Big star quilt and all I enden up doing was riping riping...

I turned the wrong side to the right side of the fabric not one time but at least 2 or 3 time. grumbling, grumbling....
Put in the end I got the pesky block togheter pretty nice.

Note to my self. Do not sew any important stuff after work when you are tired!!

Right now I am workin on my version of Sunny Skies from M*
Only problem is that I run out of one fabric so I have mailed the quilt store to see if she might have some of that fabric that I need.

Now it is only a couple days left before I go on vacation! Yeah!
3 weeks of quilting and bathing and lots of fun!

Have a nice day every one!

    Hugs

    Annika

    Hi

My thumb is doing much better since I got the brace that constrict my movments of my wrist. The swollenness is almost gone and I get regular treatment with laser and massage.

I can sew with machine but not by hand yet and all the dishes and cleaning is put on my daughters cores.

So I can lay back and take it easy!

Glad to hear your hand is doing better.
It sounds like you had a good visit with your sister. How neat that you were able to teach her a few new quilting tricks!

    Enjoy your vacation!

This Saturday I get to teach a young friend how to quilt and I mean from the basics. So I understand how good it feels to share the knowledge. Good for you and how much fun that you and your sis get to play together.

There was a thread of "what not to do" and I posted to not do that last bit when tired. I've also made the same mistake a time or two and the only person you can get mad at is yourself. That is so frustrating.

    Enjoy your vacation.
