    Default Cute boylines?

    Hello Ladies and Gents,

one of my closest friends that I still have in Germany is expecting a boy in early October. I knew before already that she was pregnant but just yesterday she told me it will be a little man! So now of course I would love to make her a cute baby quilt.

Any idea on a cute boyline? Someone made cute quilts with boats, I am thinking that might work. Or whatever else that inspires me. My friend loves blues so the fabric line souldn't only please the son but also the mother

Life is like a party. You invite a lot of people; some go, some join you, some laugh with you, some didn’t come. But in the end, after the fun, there would be a few who would clean up the mess with you. And most of the time, those were the uninvited ones.

I think the line would kind of depend on which pattern you were going to do. For example, if you were to do the sailboats that Jenny did in a tutorial, you might not want a fabric line with airplanes all over it. If you are thinking falling charms or something like that, what about the Oink a Doodle Moo or Rockets and Robots? I have some of both of them waiting for me to do something with. I just thought they were so cute. I am sure that there are lots more, those are 2 that I thought of right away. Have fun planning - I think that is one of the best parts of quilting!

    Hey Lisa!

Thanks for your answer. I am planning to make a quilt similar as the second video on this page:

I find it so cute that I have planned 2 of them already and now the boy quilt. Instead of the flower applique I would love to make boat(s) and sea. I think that should turn out super cute!

Then how about Catch of the Day? It has a nice nautical feel to it, but is still fun.

They have yardage too as well as crab shack sign panels

I found this quilt made by a member and I just love it! I found a blue and green one on the net but can't seem to post it. Probably the way I copied it. It only has four fabrics.

I'm trying to use up my stash so I'm not up on boy's right now.

    Hey Lorie!

That quilt is just adorable! And four fabrics only... hmmm that would be an idea... well I have to see! A plus is definitely that I wouldn't have to spend a fortune on fabrics since it doesn't need that much. I am lacking boy colors. (I am nearly lacking everything. Hmpf! But I am getting there ) ... unfortunately October is not that far away anymore and I will have to order soon.

Thanks, added this cute quilt definitely on my "to do" list! (Perhaps not for the boy but I will make it! It's so cute!)

I had to give a pat on my back if you like it or not. You know how hard it is to find something you found before? lol

Yes it is! I imagine it easier to make for a girl since girl fabrics are much easier to find lol. At least for me.

Riley Blake seems to have some very cute fabrics for biys. I've used several for gifts for boys. Don't think the fabrics are still available, but I used Scoot ( transportation) Pirates, and the last one I did was Under Construction by Benartex. I also did a PICU quilt using Rockets and Robots and Jungle Bungle.
